Eccup Outlet Works
The outlet works is the point where water leaves the reservoir on its way to Leeds.
The original pipe took water to the treatment works at Lawnswood.
The outlet works is a small gloomy site, surrounded by tall trees. I only include it because it is possible to get to the top of the lime silo.
The site consists of the older original stone structures.
And newer brick buildings and the lime silo.
My main interest was climbing the silo.
The silo has a ladder. The first rung is at least 7 feet off the ground. Unfortunately I'm only about 5 feet 6 inches tall.
From the top of the silo
These electrical devices are dead. I tested them with a multimeter.
Inside the silo
There is the sound of lots of water from this round structure
A final surprise was finding an unlocked lid
The rusty platform is just under water
